Ecosan Services were very proud to support their long-term customer Royal St George’s Golf Club in their hosting of the 149th Open Championship, by providing their eco-friendly Washroom and Hygiene services.

The picturesque links course on England’s coast had to wait 12 months longer than expected to stage the 149th Open Championship (the fifteenth Open to be held at Royal St. George’s) but as hosts, Royal St George’s set the scene for the world’s best players to face the sternest of challenges to seek to secure the iconic Claret Jug.

Collin Morikawa became the Champion Golfer of the Year after he produced a stunning final-day charge to win The Championship. The American beat Jordan Spieth by two shots in the Sandwich sunshine after a flawless round of 66 to take home the Claret Jug on his Open debut.

Sonja Wood, Managing Director of Ecosan Services, explained “It’s hard to appreciate what does go on behind the scenes to stage such an epic event, with up to 32,000 spectators attending each day, the scale of preparation is quite unbelievable and our Team at Ecosan worked so hard to ensure that we made an eco-contribution to the success of this historic occasion”.
